This pattern is adorable!! And it’s super easy to make – not a lot of pieces, simple seams, easy clear instructions – perfect for a beginner if you’re looking for a quick but super adorable project.

That being said I did make some modifications to this pattern for my own personal preferences by way of finishing. I incorporated French seams and finished the back snap plackets with folding and top stitching vs overlocking as I wanted a more professional finish. This didn’t take much adjustment but I find this is necessary for the longevity of a garment if you’re going to use woven fabric. Is using scuba or double knit you’re good to follow the instructions as is.

It really worked up perfectly for my little ones first birthday dress – her theme is groovy one
